DECIDE - the National Abortion Telehealth Service
Connecting people anywhere in Aotearoa New Zealand to abortion services.
DECIDE is Aotearoa New Zealand’s National Abortion Telehealth Service. It is funded by the Ministry of Health and run by Family Planning New Zealand and Magma Healthcare. We provide information about abortion, abortion services and how people can access abortion care in New Zealand.
Connecting people with information, services, and support
We are working to improve equitable access to abortion services and to help people get the information, services, and support they need to be healthy and well.
The first phase of the National Abortion Telehealth Service project is this website and a free phone number (0800 DECIDE), so people can find out about abortion services in New Zealand and how to access abortion care.
This website will develop over the coming months. From November 2022, the service will expand to include telemedicine to provide clinical consultations for an early medical abortion over the phone.
DECIDE does not replace existing in-person abortion services - it's another option to access abortion services and support so that people have greater autonomy and choice about the services they receive.
