What will it cost?
Cost for New Zealand citizen/resident
Abortion services are free to any pregnant person eligible for publicly funded healthcare in New Zealand living in the Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau district. There may be prescription fees and costs for ultrasound.
Cost for non-New Zealand resident

Accessibility
This service is on the ground floor of Kaitaia Hospital. There is level access into the building.
Public, and mobility parking is available outside of the hospital.
There is a local taxi service 7am - 10pm seven days a week, Kaitaia Bus About Town - Monday to Friday, and a shuttle bus from Kaitaia Hospital to Whangārei Hospital return Monday to Friday, excluding the Christmas period.

Translation services are available. Please let the clinic know that you will need translation support.

A female practitioner is available at the clinic.
Contraception
Contraception available through this clinic.
- Contraception prescriptions.
- A Depo Provera injection can be given at the same time as the first medication if you are having an early medical abortion.
- An implant can be inserted at the same time as the first medication if you are having an early medical abortion.

Counselling can be provided virtually.
