What will it cost?*
Cost for New Zealand citizen/resident
Free abortion services to any pregnant person eligible for publicly funded healthcare in New Zealand living in the Te Whatu Ora Nelson Marlborough district. Prescription fees may apply and you will need to pay for your ultrasound (part payment by Pacific Radiology only) and GP visit if needed.
Cost for non-New Zealand resident
- Early medical abortion from NZ$830
- Early surgical abortion from NZ$1,980
- Later surgical abortion from NZ$1,980

Accessibility
The clinic is on Level 3, Nelson Hospital. Come to the Main Hospital Entrance, ground floor. There are lifts to the left and right of the Enquiries Counter, and stairs to the left.
There is a wheelchair accessible toilet in this clinic.
If you have accessibility needs, please let the clinic know ahead of your appointment.
Mobility parking and public parking is available at the front of the hospital. There is a bus stop outside the front doors of the Main Hospital Entrance.

Translation services are available. Please let the clinic know that you will need translation support.
Female practitioners
There are female practitioners at this clinic.
Contraception
Contraception available through this clinic.
- Contraception prescriptions.
- IUD or IUS devices can be inserted when you have a surgical abortion.
- A Depo Provera injection can be given at the same time as the first medication if you are having an early medical abortion.
Counselling
Abortion decision counselling, and pre and post-abortion counselling can be provided in person or virtually.
