Email your name, date of birth, NHI number (if known), and safe contact details.
We also accept referrals from Te Whatu Ora Wairarapa, Whanganui, Taranaki, MidCentral, Hawke's Bay, Tairāwhiti and Nelson-Marlborough districts.
What will it cost?*
Cost for New Zealand citizen/resident
Free abortion services to any pregnant person eligible for publicly funded healthcare in New Zealand within the wider Wellington region (including the Hutt Valley) and those referred from Te Whatu Ora Wairapapa, Whanganui, Taranaki, Mid Central, Hawke's Bay, Tairāwhiti and Nelson-Marlborough districts. There may be prescription fees and costs for ultrasound.
Cost for non-New Zealand resident
- Early medical abortion from NZ$877.60
- Early surgical abortion (under 14 weeks + 6 days) from NZ$1,659.03
- General anaesthetic surgical abortion from NZ$2,780.02
- Induction of Labour (IOL) - price by assessment

Accessibility
The clinic can be accessed through the main entrance to Wellington Regional Hospital or the underground carpark. All entrances are wheelchair accessible and all lifts have braille.
There is a wheelchair accessible toilet in this clinic.
If you have accessibility needs, please let the clinic know ahead of your appointment.
Mobility parking and public parking is available in the hospital grounds. There is a bus stop at the front of the hospital.

Translation services are available. Please let the clinic know that you will need translation support.
Translation services costs for non-residents: $115 per hour.

Women’s Clinics and Te Mahoe share a reception. There is no signage that says Te Mahoe.

Contraception

- Contraception prescriptions.
- IUD or IUS devices can be inserted when you have a surgical abortion.
- A free contraceptive service is available after you have had your abortion.
- A Depo Provera injection can be given at the same time as the first medication if you are having an early medical abortion.
- An implant can be inserted at the same time as the first medication if you are having an early medical abortion.
Counselling
Abortion decision counselling and pre and post-abortion counselling can be provided in person or virtually.
